Everything that has an beginning has and ending… 17 months are over…But I can still hear the door closing of our apartment in D.C. I can still feel the headache after a short night and a goodbye-friends-champagne. It looks so fresh to me the excitement of jumping in the bus to the trip around the world.
But at the same time, we feel like it has been a very long voyage: Around 80,000 km, 26 countries and almost 200 places with over 450 different beds… Those are just few figures of the time-lapse movie that is playing now in my mind while I am writing these few lines.

Certainly it will take us time to full realize what we have traveled, the beauty of the natural wonders traversed, the richness of discovering new places and cultures. It will take long time until we will recognize the fair value of all the little unique moments that we have experienced in this chapter of our lives. We know that the digestion of this trip is still in process and now we are not able to measure the impact of this journey in our person but if today we would need to highlight only one thing of this trip we will have to provide names. A list of the people that came across our route and in someway made possible something unique and magical. Some times family, some times friends but also completely strangers. Each of them added their paw print in this adventure. They supported us, they opened their doors, shared a meal, visited us, we exchanged help, an adventure, a ride, a drink, an advice, a comment, a picture or simply few words or even few smiles but all of them gave us the best taste of this wonderful dream.“Sometimes people come into your life for a moment, a day or a lifetime. It matters not the time they spent with you but how they impacted your life in that moment”I read these quotes somewhere in the trip and I added it on the cover or my travel journal. “Who are we, if not measured by our impact on others?”We are still feeling like half away because in our case we can not say “We are back” we are not returning to a daily life and to the same picture that one day we left, now, closer to our families, we are slowly opening a new page while a page turns with the end of this journey ... And these people will remain in our book.Thank you all and we hope to see you again soon!
